In 2018, Riverside Housing Association (which manages Bromley's council housing), appointed developer Countryside Properties to redevelop the Pike Close estate. The estate comprised circa 100 homes in a series of low-rise maisonettes and a high-rise block.

The Mayor agreed funding in principle for the redevelopment in December 2018 (subject to ballot). In April 2019, a ballot was held and a majority of residents voted in favour of redevelopment. In May 2020, Riverside started final pre-consultation on a scheme to build 179 new homes of which 92 'affordable'. The planning application was approved in March 2022 for a total of 170 new homes of which 131 affordable homes. Within the affordable homes a tenure split of 60% London Affordable Rent or Social Rent and 40% Shared Ownership.

The scheme's section 106 agreement describes London Affordable Rent as follows:

Given that the Mayor stopped publishing LAR benchmarks in 2023, it is unclear what rent levels will be charged once the scheme is complete.

In March 2024, developer Countryside celebrated 'topping out' on the first phase (29 homes) of the Pike Close scheme.

In February 2025, Riverside applied to modify the planning permission and increase the total number of homes from 170 to 176.

As at April 2025, 29 new homes were nearing completion in the first phase of the scheme on the corner of the estate. The remainder of the estate appears to remain fully inhabited.
